Meet the heroic communities that keep beloved trails open for adventure

RED RIVER GORGE, KY
VEGAS VALLEY, NV
L. Renee Blount explores the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway in search of eastern Kentucky’s world-renowned rock climbing. Testing the capabilities of a  2025 Land Cruiser (Toyota’s longest-produced vehicle), she connects with the local Toyota Land Cruiser Association chapter, which actively maintains and improves the deep-woods latticework of high-clearance 4WD roads trails.
Beyond the glittering Las Vegas strip, the Logandale Trails System carves through 45,000 acres of otherworldly open-space fun. There, adventurer Madalynn (Madi) Carson rallies a new 2025 Toyota 4Runner to an active improvement project with Vegas Valley 4 Wheelers, who maintain the 200-plus miles of trails, ending at a starlit camping area that no casino fluorescence can match.
